Mayan Astrology is complex system of different calendars that accurately track the movement of the Sun, Moon, Venus, and Mars as well as the influence of daily “energies” called chumiles. While other astrological systems solely rely on the movement of the planets and stars in our galaxy, Mayan Astrology focuses on the influence of some planets coupled with unique daily frequencies that are calculated in their calendars.
The most important calendars of the Maya are the Sun Calendar, the Haab (360 + 5 days) and the Ritual Calendar, the Cholq’ij, of 260 days. The ritual calendar is also what influences our personal birth sign in Mayan Astrology, our Soul goal and Soul lessons in this life. Next to that, there is also a Venus calendar that precisely tracks the influence of Venus on earth.
Mayan Astrology Birth Chart Reading
Through a birth-chart reading of the Cholq’ij, every person gets a unique set of day-signs per life chapter (childhood, teenage years, young adult, mature adult, old age), which are combined with additional numbers from 1 to 13. Meaning, in Mayan astrology you don’t just get one birth sign, you get a set of three for each stage of life: private life, core energy, public life / jobs.
This creates a unqiue vibrational frequency that keeps changing and evolving and therefore working with your Soul on a deep level. Every time you overcome an obstacle, receive wisdom from a situation, and understand the interconnectedness of challenges, you unlock more of your strength and spiritual gifts.
Hence, if you enter a new phase in your life, you get a new set of energies that accompany but also challenge you to learn new things and rethink what you’ve learned so far.
Each energy brings distinct spiritual and material gifts but also lessons with it. Some day-signs need you to focus on forgiveness, others require leadership, others again require you to focus more on yourself than on others. And if each person understands these lessons as a doorway and learns how to handle them well, they fully unlock their personal power.

Mayan Astrology Daily Influence
On a day-to-day basis, the Mayan Cholq’ij Calendar can be used to harness the power of the day and focus on what’s right. For example, some days are much better to spend time in nature and go into introspection, while other days are perfect to power through and work a lot.
Since each day is governed by an energy, like a power animal, and combined with one of the 13 numbers, you get a unqiue frequency (sound) for each day. On top of that, you have an overarching influence for a period of 13 days, and another one for the whole year. All of that together literaly creates one unique daily frequency – hence the saying: be in the present, because each day is totally different. Often switching between masculine and feminine energy too.
Also, if you did not integrate your lessons from childhood energies (and therefore did not harness your power fully), these energies revisit you every 20 days, in some of the 13-day periods, and some of the yearly energies.
So, to step fully into your power, all signs want to be balanced and the lessons fully understood. Then you are a sage, basically.
That being said, Mayan Astrology is highly fascinating and very accurate. It shows spiritual gifts, your impact on commnity, as well as weaknesses and blindspots you might not be aware of.
